In the words of Corey Hart, we will all be wearing our sunglasses at night.

The 2025 TIAC Conference is being hosted at the Sternwheeler Hotel and Conference Centre, located in the heart of downtown Whitehorse, kicking off on Wednesday, August 13 with the Manufacturer and Distributor Reception. Join us as we step back in time to the Klondike Gold Rush era. From your outfit to the food you will be eating, this immersive experience will showcase life in the late 1800s.

TIAC’s President Rob Bertram established the theme of Illuminating EfficienSee: Forging a Sustainable Future with Mechanical Insulation as his mandate when he stepped into the role in 2023. This theme signifies TIAC’s pledge to actively shape an inclusive and responsible narrative for industry while nurturing the vitality of our planet.

The foundational focus for the 2024 Conference in St. John’s was the Pursuit of Excellence. This year, the Conference will be centred around Diversity, Unity, and Leadership, as described in TIAC’s guiding principles, set under the Illuminating EfficienSee mandate:

Diversity, Unity, and Leadership: United by a common purpose, we recognize the strength that comes from collective effort. We celebrate our diversity, embracing many perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. In unity, supported by strong leadership, we harness our diversity to drive innovation, enhance learning, and promote adaptability. By valuing both unity and diversity, we create a dynamic and inclusive association that thrives on collaboration, mutual support, and visionary leadership.

This commitment to diversity, unity, and leadership is a crucial element of the broader narrative initiated by President Bertram’s theme and is a key component of the long-term sustainability of the industry and association.

By adopting the Diversity, Unity, and Leadership as the 2025 Conference’s foundational focus, we showcase the collective effort that is needed to grow and strengthen the industry, overcome challenges, and drive innovation and adaptability to deliver the highest quality of products and service to clients. This commitment is not only a focal point of the Conference, but a cornerstone value by which our community lives. Adopting this foundational focus means this Conference becomes more than a gathering; it becomes a beacon, illuminating the contribution of the many perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences within this community in forging a sustainable future with mechanical insulation.

Watch for our presenter announcements by email and on all of our social media accounts in the coming weeks.

In addition to the technical programming, some great add-on activities are being planned that will give you a taste of what Whitehorse has to offer (in other words, you’re not going to see everything and should consider staying longer!) We will see wild animals, create art out of molten glass, lounge in the hot springs, catch some fish, cruise down the Yukon River, sunbath at the beach, and pan for gold!

The summer is short in Whitehorse and very busy. You will want to book your hotel room as early as possible because once the TIAC rooms are gone, we may not be able to get more.

We also encourage you to consider flying with Air North, Yukon’s airline. They fly out of Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Kelowna, Vancouver, and Victoria. Visit flyairnorth.com for more information.

Your TIAC board is excited to see you and your families this summer!
