As I sit to write this report for our winter edition, Ontarians are settling into another lockdown. The taste of normal still on our minds as we think back to our time at the Niagara Conference. As frustrating as this is, we must remember that we are all in this together and we will get through this.
Now onto the positive things!
2022 is the 60th Anniversary of TIAC and will be a very special year for us. Don’t forget to put August 17-20 in your calendar and join us in celebrating this milestone anniversary at the conference in Ottawa.
We also have a big initiative that is going to come to fruition this year. The MICA manual has taken another step forward, as the financial transaction between MICA and TIAC has been completed. We are now working on the next step, which is getting the manual access out to our members. We are hoping for the middle of the year if not sooner.
The Board of Directors, while hopeful that an in-person meeting would be possible, will be holding the February meeting virtually. Fingers crossed by May we will be able to get everyone together in Ottawa for the spring meeting.
The Innovators would like to announce the addition of a new member to their group, Mr. Cory Gray from Thermo Applicators. Cory comes from Winnipeg where he works side-by-side with his father, Robert. The board of directors welcomes him and is certain he will bring new light and enthusiasm to the group. Cory is slated in to help with the Denis Formula revamp. I would like to personally welcome Cory to The Innovators Group and express how glad I am to hear he is now part of the team. The Innovators are also starting to work on another webinar—stay tuned to the TIAC eZINE for this announcement.
So, as we head into the long days of winter, get out and hit the slopes, rinks, and trails. Always remember that the TIAC family is here for their members, their friends. If you have any questions, concerns, or just need to talk shop to someone different than your everyday group, we are here.
