C&G Insulation cares for its community

Kelowna’s C&G Insulation made a worthy donation to its community last year when it raised over $28,000 toward a free-standing palliative care facility—the first in Kelowna’s history.

In March of 2007 the Central Okanagan Hospice Association announced the need to build the 24-bed hospice house providing quality end-of-life care for residents of the Central Okanagan. When Andre Pachon, owner of C&G Insulation, heard of the Association’s goal to raise $3 million of the $10-million budget, he knew he wanted to help.

“Kelowna has never had a facility like this and it was high time,” says Pachon. “It isn’t very often a job goes to tender where you can [help], and I knew it was a worthwhile cause.” C&G was able to raise from its suppliers and manufacturers, along with 164 hours of volunteer time from his own crew, a total of $28,092 towards this very worthwhile cause.

“C&G Insulation of Kelowna, BC—a member of Heat and Frost Local 118—would like to thank Crossroads C&I Distributors, Burnaby Insulation, Shurfit Products Ltd., Knauf, Manson Insulation Inc., and our crew for a job well done,” says Pachon.

C&G’s work was completed about ten months ago, and the building opened near the end of 2008.
