Aeroflex USA, Inc. recently acquired 300,000 square feet of additional warehouse and manufacturing space, on a 14-1/2 acre campus in Sweetwater, TN. Sweetwater is approximately 30 minutes south of Knoxville, TN. The all-cash acquisition expands on the facilities and property already owned by Aeroflex USA, Inc. in the Sweetwater Industrial Park. Aeroflex USA, Inc. also purchased 2-1/2 acres of additional land adjacent to their current office and production location last year. The recent additions of the building space and land will provide for facilities that will be required by Aeroflex USA, Inc. to continue to respond to changes in industry demands.
Utilizing the strength of Aeroflex USA, Inc.’s parent company, Eastern Polymer Group of Bangkok, Thailand, the purchase of this facility and the related real estate was able to be arranged for and completed quickly. In today’s real estate market, the decision to make this investment for the future is prudent. Aeroflex USA, Inc. has occupied a significant portion of the newly-purchased facility for many years. The opportunity to purchase the buildings and the land they sit on became a recent reality that allowed for the expansion of the investment Aeroflex USA, Inc. already has in the Sweetwater community and Monroe County. Efforts by Alan Watson, Mayor, Monroe County, TN; Shane Burris, Director-Office of Economic Development for Monroe County, TN; and Robert Bettis, General Manager, SUB, Sweetwater, TN facilitated the successful conclusion to these important transactions.
The products produced by Aeroflex USA, Inc. include elastomeric thermal and acoustical insulation used in buildings, appliances, commercial and residential heating and cooling equipment, and other specialty applications. Many changes are taking place in the mechanical and specialty insulations industry. These changes are taking place at the design and applications level for all types of end-users of insulation products. The new developments will continue to drive the need for changing products and willing producers. This investment is in direct response to those significant recent developments in market needs, and facilitates using Aeroflex USA, Inc.’s unique abilities to meet those needs.
The recent acquisition of the additional space and real estate demonstrates Aeroflex USA, Inc.’s and Eastern Polymer Group’s continuing commitment to the Sweetwater community, the North and South American markets, and the businesses that are chosen for future participation. The investment is timely, cost effective, and needed for this continued growth.
