TIAC Conference 2020

Dear TIAC Members,

While we have yet to receive any inquiries regarding COVID-19’s impact on our Annual Conference (August 12-15 in Whitehorse, YK), we thought it was important to provide you an update.
Rest assured that TIAC is being diligent in ensuring that the safety and security of our attendees, staff and operational personnel remains the top priority. At this time, the Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for the general population in Canada but this could change rapidly. There is an increased risk of more severe outcomes for Canadians:

  • aged 65 and over
  • with compromised immune systems
  • with underlying medical conditions

With that in mind, there are currently no plans for TIAC to cancel or postpone its Conference as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. We hope that over the coming weeks/month will see reductions in numbers and a return to business as usual. We firmly believe that it is extremely important that everyone follow the instructions of local authorities and health professionals. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as necessary.

Thank you for your continued support!
