The 55th Annual TIAC Conference will be held at the Fairmont Royal York, which is located in the centre of downtown Toronto. The Royal York is minutes walk from the city’s most famous attractions, as well as major transportation hubs.
The 2017 Conference program will feature timely presentations by industry experts and leaders, business meetings where you can engage in sector-specific discussions, and networking opportunities to connect with friends new and old.
The Conference will kick-off on the Wednesday evening with the Manufacturers and Distributors Reception in the Royal York’s historic Imperial Ballroom. Join us for dinner and a DJ!
Thursday’s program will feature several invited speakers, including Ron Coleman, as well as the contractor, manufacturer, and distributor breakout sessions. A walking tour of the Distillery District will also be running this day for spouses and families. Be sure to join us at the top of the CN Tower for a reception at Horizons and dinner at the 360 Restaurant. Attendees will have access to both the Lookout and Glass Floor levels of the Tower throughout the evening. Bring your cameras!
Friday morning will include the CAN/AM presentations, followed by TIAC’s traditional golf tournament at the Royal Woodbine Golf Club. According to Royal Woodbine’s website, the course is, “Challenging, demanding, lush, and close enough that you can grab your clubs and get to the first tee in under 20 minutes from just about anywhere in Metro Toronto. Nestled discreetly in the Mimico Creek valley, Royal Woodbine Golf Club offers high and low handicappers a richly rewarding game on par with the area’s finest public and private clubs.”
Friday evening is a night off and delegates are encouraged to explore the city. With so much to do in Toronto, we recommend that delegates pick up a Toronto CityPASS (www.citypass.com/Toronto), which includes access to the CN Tower, Casa Loma, the Royal Ontario Museum, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, and either the Toronto Zoo or Ontario Science Centre. Don’t forget to check out what’s happening at the Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre, and the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Visit www.seetorontonow.ca to start planning your trip!
As we reach Saturday, join us for the final morning of presentations, which will feature a speaker from Revay and Associates. A Paint Nite class will be hosted during this time for the spouses and families. Don’t miss lunch this day as you will get a sneak-peak at the 2018 Conference program scheduled for September 7-10 in Banff, AB.
The Conference will be wrapped up at the President’s Dinner and Dance. Ascension Groove will provide the entertainment for the evening. These musicians have performed on Broadway and luxury cruise lines, and have had overseas chart successes.
Reminder: 2017 is Canada’s 150th anniversary so the city will be very busy. We highly recommend you book your hotel room early to ensure you get a room and receive the conference rate. It’s Back! Register by June 1, 2017 and be entered into the early bird draw for a free registration for the 2018 TIAC Conference in Banff.
Visit www.tiac.ca and watch for the TIAC eZINEs for program updates and announcements. We look forward to seeing you all in Toronto.
